An illustration of the proposed interaction currently being investigated, not a representation of published clinical results.
MaquiPro® is a nutritious fruit powder that combines certified organic, freeze-dried maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis) with the specifically identified bacterial strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum 299 (DSM 6595) in one precisely defined formulation.
Maqui Berry L. plantarum 299
Freeze-dried maqui berry with a defined anthocyanin profile.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum 299 (DSM 6595)
A precisely defined formulation developed for reproducibility and scientific investigation.
Both components are defined and quantified, not an unspecified bacterial culture added to a conventional berry supplement.

Anthocyanins are naturally occurring pigments responsible for maqui berry’s deep purple colour. Their absorption and metabolism after consumption involve several human and microbial processes.
Certified organic maqui berry was paired with strain 299 (DSM 6595) on the theoretical basis that it may enhance anthocyanin bioavailability, giving the clinical research the best possible conditions to investigate the anthocyanins’ own cardiovascular markers: the markers actually measured in the study.
This is the research question under investigation, not a statement of a demonstrated clinical effect.
The complete MaquiPro® formulation has been evaluated in clinical research conducted in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
The findings have not yet been published, and no clinical outcome or level of effect is stated or implied.
Patent-related notice: Certain aspects of the MaquiPro® formulation and/or its investigated application are subject to a pending patent process. Patent status does not constitute evidence of clinical efficacy.
